Space Heaters & Portable Bayonet Heaters

We offer full service, repairs and warranty work for Everdure, Pyrox, Vulcan, Celair, and Bonaire space heaters and portable bayonet heaters, and are registered warranty agents for Climate Technologies.

A standard service of your space or portable bayonet heater will include the following things:

  • Checking and recalibrating gas pressures and operating settings to provide efficient and optimum economy
  • Cleaning and resetting relevant sensors to provide safe and economical operation
  • Checking and cleaning of air flow and return air filters

Why does my gas heater require servicing?

It is recommended to have your gas heater serviced by a gas appliance specialist every 2 years. An unserviced gas heater is inefficient and expensive to run, and if left unchecked can cause a house fire or pollute your home with dangerous fumes.

Book an appointment with us ASAP if you notice something wrong with your gas heater such as: difficulty lighting it, yellow flames, unusual smells or noisy or inoperable fans.

How do space heaters and bayonet heaters work?

Gas space heaters work by passing cold air over a heat exchanger, which is warmed by gas combustion. The warmed air is then pushed through a vent into the room. A thermostat is installed inside the heater. This senses the air temperature inside the room and sends a signal to the heater to turn on or off, or turn up or down.

Bayonet heaters can be moved where needed, from one room to another, as long as each room has a gas bayonet connection. This is why they are also commonly referred to as portable heaters. The heater plugs into the bayonet connection via a gas hose. This also allows you to rotate the direction of the heater to aim the heat at or away from a particular part of the room.
